  • It looks like all my tickets are booked for this summer except the ones that are being take care of by Launch Pad. Whew!

  • @kimchiicecream owchie! Yeah, that sounds hard.

  • @kimchiicecream Yeah, I hear you. I’m busy as hell too.

  • Maybe I have kicked my cold into submission after all? Or maybe the endorphins are speaking.

  • First day back in 2 weeks, but I feel energized.

  • Yay, hit the gym again. 1.75 hours. That’s it. Bike, weights, normal routine PLUS crunches and leg lifts. Gonna hurt tomorrow!

  • @CreateSean Though I will wait a day before picking up my saxophone again… :p

  • @CreateSean the root canal was last week. Tomorrow is just the application of the crown on the already-filled tooth. ie. no big deal.

  • The latter book recommended somewhere by @doctorow

  • Books on my desk: Warped Passages by Lisa Randall (on string theory) and Flappers, Bootleggers, “Typhoid Mary” and the Bomb by B. Boardman.

  • (Tomorrow morning, hike and then my root canaled tooth will be crowned. Then some work, and gym in the late afternoon!

  • I am hereby once more congested in the sinuses, but not sick from the neck down. Tonight will involve a trip to the gym!

  • @windsandle LOL Indeed. Unlike cattle, who must browse to eat. 🙂

  • @charlesatan Ugh! Well, I hope you’re doing better soon…

  • @StephanieDBrown 🙂

  • @windsandle best way to read internet media…

  • @johnjosephadams keyboards and mice, yes… haven’t tried a monitor, though…

  • @charlesatan ugh! Have you seen the doctor yet?

  • @CreateSean Good reason to stop using it! 🙂

  • @StephanieDBrown why? It was funny…

  • back home after hanging out with @JamesTurnbull, Roger Wellor, and the latter’s fiancee. Met Stephen Epstein and other neat folks too…

  • @StephanieDBrown nah it was a pervy comment…

  • @StephanieDBrown I’m withholding my comment on that one. 🙂

  • @JamesTurnbull crashed here last night… soon off for breakfast and trip into Seoul…

  • @StephanieDBrown sorry, which new sensation?

  • @elainethebrain homegirl! It’s a root canal kind of weekend! I hope yours is as painless as mine, if one is necessary

  • @bkksoul Ha, I try to convince my students of the same. Wisely, they disbelieve me.

  • @roboseyo 🙂

  • @BlueTyson Would have expected Croc to be gamey. Camel? As my old man used to say, “Filthy bloody animal. Never get bitten by one.”

  • @kimchiicecream Yeah, seriously.

  • Mourned Dad today. They don’t tell you that you’ll keep mourning. And that joy, and reconnection, and love, and overwhelm sorrow.

  • @charlesatan Ha, I ended up cleaning my house. A little. And picking up my new wonderful book on reducing blood pressure! And mourning.

  • Anyone got a spare left ear? I can’t hear out of the one I’ve got…

  • Going off twitter: time to get the house tidied, hit the office and pick up my book (on managing BP, finally arrived!) and do some writing.

  • @maureenmcq Nope, not even frog’s legs. No kind of amphibian. Not yet, or knowingly, anyway. 🙂

  • @BlueTyson Yeah, I must only have had roo… don’t remember croc, and I think I would.

  • @StephanieDBrown YEah, no temp crown. Just a temp filling down in the tooth itself. Not a nice feeling. But if I’m careful I’ll be okay.

  • @StephanieDBrown Yup. The only real discomfort is when my tongue explores the tooth and goes, “Gaah! Where’s the rest?!?

  • @kimchiicecream Would LOVE to find out more about how people reacted to it. Unfortunately, there was no blogosphere at the time.

  • @kimchiicecream Nick Mamatas told me that story, but I confirmed it with a few Koreans who vaguely remember it.

  • @kimchiicecream Only heard second hand, but: during some protest evac, a TV station was left unattended. Broadcast V on loop for days.

  • @kimchiicecream LOL V, V… you know, there’s an interesting story about Korean political history involving that show.

  • @roboseyo Depends on the dinosaur, mind you. Some of them are nothing but bone! 😉

  • @BlueTyson Oooh, I think I did have some gator jerky I bought in Australia. Or did I give it away as a gift. Maybe. Roo jerky was ok.

  • @CreateSean Nope, never had froglegs or snake.

  • @StephanieDBrown btw it helps when you ask “what’s oorongi?” and they don’t know the English word for that “cute little delicious animal”…

  • (Maybe not a whole one.)

  • For my next amazing trick, I’m going to eat a reptile. Er. (Have I ever eaten reptile? No. No lizards, no amphibians. Yet.)

  • @StephanieDBrown What? Eating cows is less gross? Ever hung out with a cow? 🙂 Seriously, the snail dishes were good.

  • @StephanieDBrown Yeah, no inflammation at all. I’m saying this is a downright positive dental experience… a dental adventure, really.
