  • @splinister Don’t mind? I get a kick out of seeing wrath being visited upon bullies. Maybe it’s just me.

  • Wanted a darker one, but couldn’t find one in the shop.

  • New shower curtain. (Cats, now gone, ruined the last one.) White, birds on it. Makes the bathroom look totally different.

  • Midway along this road of life, I found myself in a wood, and I could not find my way back out. Searched my pockets for a pack of matches…

  • @TheWilliamG I did indeed find books. @CreateSean it was fun. @Suho1004 yeah, I enjoyed it. Got some posters. Too many kids’ books, tho…

  • @PaulGrahamRaven anyway start w/ Bird, Dizzy Gillespie, Miles Davis, John Coltrane,Monk,Rollins,Ornertte Coleman…

  • @PaulGrahamRaven beats loved Bird but he doesn’t sound so wild & crazy to us… his style became normal…

  • email will have to wait: going to the Seoul International Book Fair with a pal today… not sure what to expect… http://www.sibf.or.kr

  • good mornin’ lil’ school girl… good mornin’ lil’ school girl… can I go home with you? tell yo’ mama & yo papa I’m a lil’ schoolboy too–

  • @stuckinseoul Thanks for the tip. I’ll definitely try it sometime, hopefully with company. 🙂

  • @douglain *envy*

  • @jay_lake Argh! Good luck, man.

  • It’s teacher’s day in Korea. One student from years ago sent a HUGE thing of flowers…

  • @stuckinseoul make it yourself?

  • @JeremiahTolbert Crow, Twizzler? That’s TS Eliot quality gloominess. 🙂

  • @mujaku Hmm. I’m a bit skeptical ALL mainstream cosmologists are bias-blinded or grant-chasers.

  • @mujaku Sure, every field of knowledge involves biases. Even Buddhist theology, right? But Big Bang is pretty well established…

  • @simonowens That’s a VERY interesting idea. A story idea, really. Or, more of a backstory idea.

  • @stuckinseoul bokbunja sangria? What’s that like?

  • @mujaku Hmmmm. Lisa Randall seems to disagree. She is a string theorist, but then, Smolin also has an agenda — everyone does. *shrug*

  • @arafel2 yeahㅣimagine so.

  • @TheWilliamG rotfl good line.

  • @arafel2 yah, i&i be pokey sometimes, mon. When it be mo’nin, yaaaaaa.

  • @MaryRobinette & now I’m thinking about that blind girl I dated once… Hmmm.

  • @MaryRobinette it’s the blind man’s own resistance you’re reflecting…

  • No, dood, I most certainly is not the Bokonon.

  • @Suho1004 true… Tho after at least there’s no vague expectation of dropping all plans for it… Tho everyone was sensible this time!

  • @rsdevin LOL trust @JeremiahTolbert at yr own peril–our beloved madman!–but anyhow welcome aboard!

  • @mujaku in my story there’s more evidence for it… Plus ain’t Smolin a Loop QGravity guy? (IIRC)

  • On a less biotchy note… string theory and Buddhism do seem to go well together. In this thing I’m writing, anyway.

  • Oh well… don’t give me advance notice? Don’t expect me at the event. Duh. I do have a life.

  • Again I ask — of work — why do I always get told about upcoming events last? Surely someone knows I need to know. Tell me in Korean!!!

  • @JeremiahTolbert Ah, this explains the burst of new followers!

  • Why is it I never hear about anything until two days before it is happening? Argh!

  • Whoops, open *mic* thing… poems or comedic SF, if I’m to keep going. Well, I *am* working on writing funny. Hm.

  • Home from oen mic thing. SF is a tough sell in this venue. Hmmm. Should I bust out my poems?

  • Kenny Garrett, Tsunami Song… excellent music for the WIP…

  • Rockin’ to the Flight of the Conchords… It’s Business Time…

  • @matthewspassion I think it’s probably similar to in Japan or China, but the local SF scene is much smaller.

  • Home from gym. Achey. 12 km cycle. Many weights. New core exercise. OW. Ungh. Done… Flight of the Conchords and then bed.

  • (It was the British, backhanded two-finger bird she flipped at the audience, and yes, I had explained it, but NOT that way.)

  • Once a student flipped the bird to a large audience in my Department and said, “Professor Gord said this means ‘to fucking’… So don’t do!”

  • @matthewspassion But SF conventions and social networks are less accessible, and it’s hard to be out of Anglosphere sometimes. Lose touch.

  • @matthewspassion Depends how you define “good place” — lots of story inspirations, and if you have a good job, lots of time off, etc.

  • @JonathanStrahan My altec lansings are nice — sorry, don’t know the model, tho.

  • @kimchiicecream LOL 24 hour point detection system…

  • @JonathanStrahan owch!!

  • But I’ll be headed to the gym then, so there.

  • One hour left of my two-hour break between classes. Nobody turned up. Betcha there’s at least 3 “urgent” questions after my 5-6pm class.

  • @matthewspassion I’d believe it. For one thing, it looks less like a grim cyberpunk novel. 🙂 And people aren’t so universally stressed.
