The bit about writing a novel and then realizing @gregeganSF had done it better, and then sitting down to write another and realizing it’d happened again, was real, though! My mom jokingly suggested backwards-in-time storytheft… @mcclure111 @gregeganSF @ianbobmorris Also, I mentioned the story to @gregeganSF by email (didn’t want him to think any hostility was real if he stumbled onto it). He was very congenial and told me about how the same had happened to him with a Hal Clement book, IIRC? 🙂
