@tweetsbymoi @ajosshi I mean, I heard this from an in-law with a tendency to believe anything. I mention it only to say that the rumors and stories that are circulating are nuts. The gov’t has been very concerned to discourage the appearance of an autocratic response all along, so… @tweetsbymoi @ajosshi Maybe they’re taking the rumors and urban legends as kind of a metric about the general mood re: lockdown or danger levels.

(It’s easier to announce nonsense that calms people down and then rescind it when everyone can finally see it’s necessary, than to push before then?)
