Also, less-educated people have fewer tools for dealing with the psychologically erosive forces I’m talking about, and tend to have stronger taboos about even talking about them. @isasv But that said, my impression is that it’s solidly identitarian, and it’s about being able to justify XYZ due to party-affiliation identity. (Just as some Democrats seem to justify or ignore some pretty awful things under Obama’s watch.)
