@iampaulkerry The analogy is flawed, though, since people tend not to die of prediabetes the way they do of diabetes, whereas people die or are sickened by COVID just as much in pandemic as in endemic phases. (Endemic just does it in a slower and more protracted way, right?) @iampaulkerry I probably would feel differently if I didn’t get the sense that “endemic” is being bandied about as a reason to go back to drinking water straight from the Broad Street Pump, as Neoliberal John Snow’s parody account would put it:
