Do people who do terrible product design or lazy, poorly-through-out engineering work also get called “hacks” by their less lazy/mediocre colleagues? Or is there another term?
(Asking for a few friends… i.e. several of our locally-manufactured household appliances.)

I should note that I’m mostly talking about smaller appliances. The fridge and washing machine are fine. Smaller appliances, though, are a miasma of baffling design choices, sometimes so many in one product that you can’t help but wonder if it’s on purpose.
